Designing your emails

Business and Agency plans.

Your emails can carry your logo, your colours, your footer and your social links. It takes about fifteen minutes and it makes you look like a company rather than a plugin.

Where

Go to Mollie Payments, then Email design.

Your logo

Upload an image, or paste a URL.

Set a logo height and a header alignment: left, centre or right.

Leave the image empty and your site name is used as text instead, which is perfectly respectable.

Your colours

Header colour. The plugin makes the header text readable automatically, so you do not have to think about contrast.

Accent and link colour. This colours the buttons and links.

There is a Copy Houzez colours button, which pulls the colours from your theme. Press it first. It gets you most of the way there in one click, and your emails will match your website without you picking a single hex code.

These colours apply to every email, including your payment link emails.

Your footer

Footer colour and footer text colour. The plugin asks you to pick a text colour that reads well on the background, which is a fair thing to ask.

Divider colour. A short line between the two footer lines.

Footer text, line 1 and line 2. Both are free text, and leaving one empty hides it.

The plugin makes a point worth noticing: only your own text goes here. It never quietly adds your site name or variables for you. What you write is what appears.

Use it for the things a professional email carries: your company name, your Chamber of Commerce number, your VAT number, an address, an unsubscribe note if you need one.

Social media

Show your profiles as icons at the bottom of every email.

An icon only appears once you fill in its URL, so an empty field simply does nothing. You can set a title above the icons, choose horizontal or vertical, set the alignment and the size, and change the background colour of each one. The official colour of each platform is the default, and there is a Restore official colours button when you have experimented too much.

The live preview

There is a preview on the same page, showing exactly how your emails will look.

It uses dummy data, and the plugin tells you so. {name} and {site} are variables that get filled in for real when the email is actually sent.

Send a test

There is a Send test email button on this page too.

Do it. Then open it on your phone, because that is where most people will read it, and a logo that looks handsome on a monitor sometimes looks enormous on a phone.
